While at GDC Marketing & Ideation, TxDOT was one of the biggest clients we had. It wasn't always that way.
Our relationship with the state agency quickly grew into opportunities to vie for and win business within their suite of work. We won more and more business from different divisions.
We developed full statewide campaigns for TxDOT's Traffic Safety Division, including their driver safety, (Be Safe. Drive Smart.), drinking and driving, child protection (seat belt and safety seat), campaigns.
This included a full suite of materials for each campaign, from print, TV, radio, out of home, and social media.
We also created experiential products—whether high-tech VR solutions or cost-effective outreach tools—to complement the department's grassroots efforts across Texas.

Teen Click It or Ticket Grassroots AR
As part of our grassroots efforts for the Teen Click It or Ticket safety belt usage, we developed punch-out paper trucks that matched the touring vehicle and included an AR-activated safety message.



Statewide Impaired Drugged Driving Spot
The client's efforts around impaired driving were specifically aimed at curbing driving while under the influence of alcohol. The agency brought an incredible amount of research and data to build the case for addressing other forms of impaired driving that were on the increase, including prescription opioid abuse/misuse—and be one of the first state agencies to do so.
This spot was the result of pulling the client into unfamiliar, uncomfortable territory with strong strategy and data, and crafting a spot that brought lots of attention from general audiences and the client's transportation stakeholders and peers.
